   CALL Lesson 5

On Tuesday, June 6th, we have our fifth CALL lesson. I hope that you are enjoying learning English this way!

We didn't have a CALL lesson last week, because we did some revisions for Wednesday's test, but not everybody did as well as I expected (= nem toda a gente se portou tão bem quanto eu esperava).

Before we begin this morning, let me ask you a question: Is there anything different or new in our blog? What is it?

And now let me tell you something: Sharon says that if you have a dog, or any other pet, and want to have his/her photo in Holling's blog, you can give me the photo to send to her. Isn't that nice?! Your pet can have a dog friend in the United States!!!

It's now time for today's work. Let's visit Holling's blog and go to May 21 to answer a question that Sharon asks. Then we can go up to May 23 and answer a second question. We'll need the help of the World Atlas for both questions.

Next we will visit another blog called Kids and Learning English. Let's see where in the world these children are, their ages and what they can do and like doing in their free time. And then let's leave a message for them! If we have time, we can also record the message and leave it here in our CALL blog. BTW (By the way = A propósito), they left comments for me on May 22. Do you want to take a look at them?

Let's get to work! And work fast to do everything that I planned for you. Enjoy!

Hi Everyone!

We were very happy to see that you visited Holling's blog yesterday.

I know that you are going to be surprised when you read the next sentence. I was up yesterday morning at 4:00 a.m. when 5D visited Holling's blog. Can you believe that?

I have to drive a long distance to teach school so I usually leave every morning by 6:30. That means that I was already in my car when 5C visited the blog.

Yes, 5C you are correct about Thailand! Your prize is dinner at my house with Holling and the six cats when you visit Boston!

I almost lost one cat. A fox caught him and bit him on the leg. He was in the hospital for one week and had to have an operation. I took Holling to the hospital to visit him. He's feeling better now. Tomorrow I'm going to put up on the blog some pictures that I took of "Sam" Holling's favorite cat at the hospital.

Thanks again for visiting :-) We're looking forward to seeing pictures of your pets. It will be a lot of fun.

Bye for now,

Holling and Sharon

I enjoyed reading the student responses with their answers to Sharon's geography challenge. I also enjoyed the descriptions of what the students liked (and didn't like).

The voice messages by Rodrigo and Rafael were extra special.
